Safe Ship was the WORST moving experience I have ever had. Not only did they double the price within the cancelation window (I had made a very organized list by room for them from the beginning, and actually reduced the detailed list of items by an entire sectional couch and queen size bed and mattress), they also increased it again on the spot. They rushed me into signing the paperwork, and explained .60 on the dollar, not pound, and assured me that was plenty. I expect costs to shift a little, and a broken glass here or there but paid 2k extra for packers and some of the items were just thrown into the boxes with no wrapping at all. Many items are missing. They arrived 9 days after pick up (I was told 3-5 days), with 1 hour notice (I was told I would be given 48 hours notice, with a call 24 hours prior with a time window) at 7pm on a Sunday night. It took HOURS to unload, especially considering they had another entire home's worth of items in front of mine in the truck that they had to completely unload first to get to my things. They gave me multiple boxes of someone else's clothes, which I caught on the spot, but still have someone else's chandelier. I have called to return it and no one will get back to me. The lost multiple boxes and somehow also a large beautiful arm chair. I have two custom art pieces that are broken, a marble table shattered, all of my wine glasses, a broken counter stool, an entire garage storage piece is broken, cocktail glasses, multiple plates and platters, two floor lamps, and some of my clothes arrived ripped and moldy... and I just want my items back!!! I have reached out to customer service multiple times to see if they have found my items or even called, and they just keep telling me to file a claim and deal with the insurance company and could literally care less. I recently had the pleasure of using Safe Ship for my move, and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a moving company. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth and efficient, thanks to the incredible moving crew.

The man I originally spoke to was pushy and kept guilt tripping me for not booking at a certain time even though I said I couldn't move at any other time of the year. Communication was poor otherwise. After I had signed the contract and put down my deposit, they also kept tacking on LITERALLY THOUSANDS even though not much changed with the original inventory. I ended up paying about $5000 more than I originally was quoted.

They outsourced the actual moving process and they moved my possessions, which were for a 1 bedroom apartment and fit comfortably within a 10x15 storage unit, into an EIGHTEEN WHEELER and then charged me an extra $1050 for that since their giant truck wouldn't fit into the complex, which they knew about from the beginning.

On top of that, there was no consideration for my fragile items. The PLASTIC BOXES that were marked ALL OVER with "FRAGILE" were literally crushed and delivered/packed upside down. They also never put my TV in a TV box like I requested and PAID FOR.

Six of my furniture items were also broken and will have to be replaced.

Movers Beware! Avoid Safe Ship Moving Services at All Costs!

I recently had a horrific experience with Safe Ship Moving Services. Broker Kevin Levy was hired to move my apartment, but their services were nothing short of disastrous. Not only did they recklessly transport my bed, mattress, table, and coffee table unsecured on the outside of the moving truck, but they also damaged nearly every piece of furniture I owned.

To make matters worse, I've been completely ignored by their customer service. They've refused to return my calls or address the damage they caused. Beware of their deceptive insurance policy. It offers a whopping .60 cents per pound per item, making it virtually worthless in the event of damage. It's clear they count on customers not bothering to file claims.

I urge you to avoid Safe Ship Moving Services at all costs. Their negligence and lack of accountability are unacceptable.

Johnathan and his crew were quick and efficient with loading my belongings. There was a little bit of confusion regarding my pick up time but Johnathan and Cindy were able to iron things out and provide me with an accurate time. They gave me the quote for the price to pay at pick up and delivery and I purchased postal money orders for each. Everyone was polite and professional in their communication.I would recommend Plymouth moving for anyone planning a cross country move.

The movers did an absolutely excellent job from start to finish. They arrived on time, were professional and courteous, and handled every item with care and precision. Not only did they work quickly and efficiently, but they also made sure everything was securely packed and safely transported without a single scratch or issue. Their attention to detail and positive attitude turned what could have been a stressful day into a smooth and seamless experience. Very helpful and efficient! Franky, not that much more than just renting a UHaul and gas expense. So a bit more for movers that move, protect, and transport it all for you. The staff was extremely professional from start to finish throughout the process. Are there cheaper services out there, probably, but you're definitly getting what you pay for in my opinion with Safe Ship. What would have taken possibly days for us to pack and load ourselves, let alone drive and unload ourselves, they did in less than 2 hours without us lifting a finger. Tim, Carlos, and Jorge were an amazing crew.

Top tier service in my humble opinion.

I can’t say enough positive things about this experience. I’ve moved more that 10 times as a military member and a veteran, and this was one of the best and most professional experiences I’ve had.

Here’s the kicker, while in an unsupervised room, one of the movers found a stash of rare coins we had completed forgotten about. When I looked in the room later, the room was expertly cleared out, and the bag of coins was sitting on a shelf waiting for me. If that isn’t a testament to their honesty and professionalism, I don’t know what is.

We were very impressed about the efficiency and professionalism on the moving team at both the Yucaipa home and the Salem home. Our furniture was carefully wrapped and loaded. The boxes and other items were higher than expected but the team was able to accommodate the needs and get all items to us. They arrived at the appointment time range with the call when they were near. Also a delivery time that we could be at the house was scheduled and they arrived right on time.

Only suggestion would be to have the furniture moved into rooms before the boxes. The team needed to move boxes so furniture could be put in the right location within the room. All team members were professional and helpful.

Cesar Javier Rolando and his 2 teammates with Cobra Van Lines Moving Systems did a fantastic job. They packed our entire household in 2.5 hours. They were very strong and able to manage our boxes and furniture with ease. They were professional and clearly had a lot of experience. They were all personable. They loaded our household, drove 320 miles, made multiple stops and unloaded at our new home all in one day. Lastly, they were very kind to my elderly parents. Would highly recommend them.

Safe ship has turned a 1200 mile nightmare into a manageable experience. We seemed priced out of professional movers, but Safe Ship's great prices and veteran's discount really saved our family time and money. We received a wonderful team of three; Tim, Jorge and Carlos who were quick, careful and genuinely enjoyable to speak with. They didn't have any problems from the smallest box to our piano and were happy to help us out even though our original estimation of how much we would be packing came quite a bit lower than what they actually had to move. I would absolutely use them again if we receive the same excellent quality of service on delivery at our new home.

Moving across state lines is usually a nightmare, but my experience with Safe Ship was actually pretty solid. I moved from Las-Vegas to Palm Springs last month, and overall, I’d give them a 5 out of 5 stars.

On loading day, the crew showed up on time. They were high-energy and worked fast, wrapping my bigger furniture in moving blankets and taking care not to scuff the walls. I was moving an antique things like washing machine and butter maker, and they handled it like pros.

The toughest part of an interstate move is the waiting game. My stuff was in transit for about 3 days. Communication during that window was great. Thank you Safe Ship.

Paul and Kiryl did an amazing job when packing and picking up my household goods! They were both very kind, caring, professional, attentive, sweet, transparent, and understanding. When they arrived, I eventually realized I had more boxes/items than expected!

They were so kind as to help me with my additional items by getting an updated estimate so the items could be packed into the van/truck within the appropriate time frame. Everything was dealt with in a timely manner. Both gentlemen ensured my items were in the van safely and securely. They went above and beyond with everything, especially when they packed my mirror. I asked if the mirror looked like it was safe for travel and they were honest and suggested that it didn’t look properly done and that they could have it packed in a safer way.

I agreed with the safer way because I knew they had the proper materials to safely pack it. They didn’t charge me extra for packing the mirror, which was super nice, because I did my best to pack things on my own (with the help of my family) and they saw I needed help with having the mirror safely prepped. Paul informed me that he could have it packed in a way where the mirror would be properly secured and protected. I’m so thankful they were still able to get all of my items packed and ready for the new destination.

As for Safe Ship moving services, they always have amazing and kind customer service! They helped to coordinate when the movers would arrive and the entire process was seamless. Thank you times a million!⭐️

If you are researching movers, please stop and read this. Safe Ship Moving Services is not a moving company. They are a broker, and their entire operation is built on misleading consumers, emotionally manipulating them into paying deposits, and then disappearing when things go wrong.

When I first spoke with my “Lead Logistics Coordinator,” Gavin Scott, he sounded trustworthy. He immediately leaned into my mention of being a young father and began talking about his own child and family life in Florida. It felt personal at the time. Now I realize it was calculated manipulation — a sales tactic designed to break down my guard and get my deposit. Safe Ship’s salespeople are trained to weaponize empathy.

He promised me a “binding estimate” and repeatedly referred to their movers as “our guys,” giving the impression that Safe Ship employed its own crews and trucks. They do not. After I paid, they quietly sold my move to Best American Moving LLC, a low-quality New Jersey carrier I had never heard of and never agreed to hire.

The problems started immediately. Best American arrived with an unmarked truck, unprofessional workers, and almost no organization. Boxes weren’t labeled, inventory wasn’t tracked, and several items vanished entirely. What did arrive was in disgusting condition — multiple boxes were wet, damaged, and smelled like mildew and sewage. My child’s stroller and other expensive items had to be thrown away because they absorbed the odor and were essentially ruined.

Their packing was intentionally sloppy. Many boxes were half-empty, clearly designed to inflate the cubic footage of the load (since they charge by cubic foot). This is a textbook scam. By wasting space, they can legally increase the price by thousands. And that’s exactly what happened: my “binding” estimate ballooned once the truck was loaded.

When I called Safe Ship to report the damage and the price hike, the friendliness vanished. Emails went unanswered. Calls were dodged. Gavin Scott — who couldn’t stop calling during the sales process — completely disappeared. Safe Ship’s response was simply, “We’re just the broker.” They take your money, hand you off to someone else, and then deny responsibility for everything.

Best American Moving was even worse. After delivery, they blocked my phone number and ignored every email. I filed a formal claim for damaged and missing items — which, under 49 CFR § 370.9, they are legally required to acknowledge within 30 days and resolve within 120 days. They have violated both requirements. No response. No compensation. No accountability.

Another major issue: Safe Ship heavily promotes itself as “veteran-owned and operated.” After researching, I found no proof whatsoever of this. If their CEO Roger Vance or partner Stanley Drinkard really served, they should release documentation. Until then, this appears to be false advertising and possibly stolen valor — one of the most unethical marketing tactics a business can use.

Safe Ship also advertises a suspiciously high star rating on its own website — a “4.1 star, 276-review” score that cannot actually be viewed or verified. These reviews appear to be used to mask their real reputation, which is overwhelmingly negative across credible consumer platforms.

This experience turned what should have been a hopeful family relocation into a nightmare filled with stress, financial loss, and anger. I lost thousands of dollars and irreplaceable belongings because Safe Ship misrepresented who they are and what they do.

To be clear: this is not an isolated experience. Hundreds of real consumer reviews across multiple platforms echo the same complaints — emotional manipulation, bait-and-switch pricing, disappearing customer service, damaged property, missing boxes, and total denial of responsibility.

Safe Ship Moving Services is not a mover. It is a predatory brokerage that exploits people at one of the most stressful moments of their lives. Their business model depends on deception, fine print, and evasion.

If you value your belongings, your sanity, and your money, stay far away from Safe Ship Moving Services. They will take your deposit, hand your move to the lowest bidder, and then vanish when everything goes wrong. This company should not be in business.

We had Eugene, Andrew, Edwin and Jonathan pack our house from Rushmore Movers. It was a large job and they did it in a day! They were kind and professional. Eugene was VERY communicative from calling to let us know where he was and when he’d be there to explaining the contract as we filled it out. They did not make it at the time they were supposed to be there, but I think that was a communication error with SafeShip. I’m not sure if it was communicated to the movers the size of the job, but they showed up in a truck not large enough that they had to take three trips to the storage, making it a longer and more tiring day than it needed to be. In the end, they left NO trash behind and got everything packed and ready to go. They worked and wasted no time. Eugene was a great leader in that he made sure everyone was on top of things, and he spoke kindly but firmly with the rest of the crew. I’d give the crew five stars.

The reason I can’t give Safe Ship five stars is because the price of our move changed dramatically from my initial booking to the last day. SafeShip first quoted me about $14,000 for my 4 bed/3bath two story home. I signed the binding contract that day and put down the $8000+ deposit down. When they called back to go over inventory, only a few things were added, but the price went up $6000. I was shocked. They took off a bit once I said I’d leave behind a couch, coffee table and a few other items. This was a first time out of state move for us, but I have learned not to do inventory just over the phone. I should have had someone come out (I wasn’t given the choice) to look at inventory. Anyway, because we already had a deposit down (over $8,000), we didn’t have a choice to change companies, or I would have. Our company is reimbursing us, but because of the change in price, we went over the company allowance and are now paying some out of pocket. And we still have to ship our cars.

They were friendly and professional, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was done properly. They got our crazy house all packed up and moved which seemed impossible but they got it done!

The brokers themselves were ok, the original estimates were way lower than the final cost which was frustrating, it was also hard to get in touch with someone from safe ship
